How is the format of the T20 World Cup 2024?

The T20 World Cup 2024 is divided into four groups, with a total of 20 teams distributed evenly among these groups. In this stage, these teams will be divided into two groups of four each, and the top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi-finals.

In the event of a tie:

If a match ends in a tie, a Super Over will be played. If the Super Over also ends in a tie, then another Super Over will be played until a result is achieved.

How are results determined in case of rain affecting matches?

During the group stage and Super 8 stage, if a match is affected by rain, both teams must bat for a minimum of five overs to constitute a result. However, during the semi-finals and final, if a match is affected by rain, both teams must bat for at least one over to determine a result.

What provisions are there for knockout matches?

For the semi-finals and final, an additional 190 minutes and a reserve day have been allocated. However, there is no reserve day for the second semi-final due to scheduling constraints.
