Abhishek Sharma

In IPL 2024, the brilliance of young talent was evident. Many young players showcased their skills, catching the eye of Team India selectors for the days to come. Young players like Abhishek Sharma, who learned cricket from legends like Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara and displayed their batting prowess alongside Travis Head for Hyderabad, left a lasting impression on cricket experts. Several experts also believed that 23-year-old Abhishek Sharma could have found a place in the current T20 team. Abhishek Sharma from Amritsar scored 484 runs at a strike rate of 204 in 16 matches this season. Abhishek hit the most sixes in the tournament this season, with a total of 42. Nevertheless, the runner-up team, Hyderabad, hit the most sixes in the tournament, with 178.

Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag, a former champion with Rajasthan, had his journey in the playoffs cut short by Hyderabad, but he showcased his skills exceptionally well. The 22-year-old Riyan Parag from Assam scored 573 runs at a strike rate of 149 in 16 matches. He played 4 half-century innings and proved to be the match winner on several occasions. Experts believe that Riyan Parag could emerge as a crucial member of the future Team India. Meanwhile, Gujarat’s team finished 8th in the tournament, failing to reach the playoffs.

Before the tournament, Hardik Pandya’s move from Gujarat to Mumbai and the injury of Mohammed Shami caused some upheaval for Gujarat. However, 22-year-old Bharadwaj Sai Sudarshan, who resides in Chennai, has been making a name for himself. Sai Sudarshan scored 527 runs at a strike rate of 141 in 12 matches, including one century and two half-century innings.

Shashank Singh

The super finisher from Chhattisgarh, Shashank Singh, aged 32, made his mark in this IPL. Shashank arrived late but stood strong. Playing for Punjab, Shashank Singh scored 354 runs at a strike rate of 165 in 14 matches, while Ashutosh Sharma scored 189 runs at a strike rate of 167 in 11 matches. These middle-order batsmen played the role of super finishers, but Punjab’s team finished 9th in the league standings and couldn’t secure a spot in the playoffs.

Jitesh Sharma

Jitesh Sharma, Punjab’s wicketkeeper-batsman at the international level for Team India, also made his mark successfully. Jitesh scored 187 runs at a strike rate of 132, hitting 9 fours and 12 sixes. This also proved that they can perform exceptionally well at the highest level.

Mayank Yadav

Among all these, one genuine pacer stunned the world by bowling at a speed of 156+ km/h. This star’s name is Mayank Yadav. Playing for Delhi but with roots in Bihar, Mayank’s towering height left commentators astounded. Continuously bowling at speeds exceeding 150 km/h, Mayank Yadav also amazed legends like Brett Lee, Dale Steyn, Kevin Pietersen, Harbhajan Singh, and Irfan Pathan. Bowlers from around the world praised him for his 156.7 km/h speed and accurate bowling. Mayank Yadav became a terror for batsmen worldwide. However, Mayank could only play 4 matches. He bowled 12.1 overs, taking 7 wickets with an economy rate of 6.98. Despite Mayank’s injury, the Lucknow team finished 7th in the standings, leaving no doubt for Lucknow and all Indian fans.
